Zima: USBL Navigation System

Determining the absolute and relative positioning of objects

Tracking the location of up to 23 objects

Telecontrol: Transmitting up to 32 pre-programmed commands to underwater objects

Convenience: the System is small and lightweight

Wide range: up to 8000 m

Ease of use: requires no complicated setup

Simplest integration with third-party software and course and positioning systems

Suitable for tracking any object underwater, i.e. submersibles, divers, instrumentation, etc.

We’ve simplified everything that was making your job difficult

1. Easy preparation

The System is easy to install and requires no wiring All you need to do is to fasten the Autonomous Responder Beacon to the object, and you immediately get its coordinates
One DF antenna locates up to 23 separate objects underwater.

2. Easy installation

The DF antenna weighs no more than 0.5 kg (1.1 lb) and does not require any lifting equipment on the vessel.
The antenna can be installed all by one person, even on a small boat or a dinghy!

3. Easy connection and seamless integration

The system has its own battery and connects to most PCs via USB.
It is also compatible with most position detection and tracking systems available on the market.
Connect and work without any extra settings!

How The Zima System is used

The Zima Navigation System provides relative bearing tracking of the object (azimuth, distance, depth).
When coupled with a surface GNSS receiver and compass, the system allows you to determine the absolute coordinate tracking of the object (latitude and longitude) in addition to the relative position.
You can track just about any object underwater as long as you can attach the system’s responder beacon to it.

The Zima System is successfully used for geographical and oceanographic research, prospecting, S&R, underwater construction, diver training and many other underwater activities.

Battery pack is included in the set

Work without limitations at temperatures ranging from -2 to +50 deg Celsius

Use GPS emulation function of your software for any of the selected beacons

Pair it up with GNSS and compass, and get absolute coordinate tracking with track recordings

Locate beacons using open source software or create your own software

Save tracks of objects in Google KML format

Get base station location on the beacon (useful for standalone units)

Transmit telecontrol signals to beacons and receive telemetry data

The Zima-R System consists of

The Zima System is very simple Mount the base station on a vertical deployment pole on your boat (this may be a dinghy or it may be an expedition vessel), attach the responder beacons to the objects and connect the system with the autonomous power supply and linking unit. Now you can simultaneously track up to 23 objects in one water area!

The kit includes:

  • ZimaBase station with cable of 10 m and more
  • Zima-R Responder Beacon with a rechargeable battery pack
  • Bat & Link Box power and switching station
  • Hard case for storage and transportation

Optional additions:

  • Responder Beacons (in a standalone configuration or for integration with a carrier)
